Turning My SaaS Failures into a Fun Game

Hello Indie Hackers!
After spending years building SaaS products and getting too caught up in polishing every little detail, I realized I kept making the same mistake: I avoided marketing like the plague. The result? MRR stayed at zero.
Instead of being crushed by it, I decided to do something fun (and a bit ironic) with my lessons learned. Enter 0MRR—a game designed to teach you what not to do as a SaaS founder.
The Hustle
After picking up the domain name 0mrr.com, I brainstormed ideas and settled on the concept of a game where players actively avoid success. Using Cursor AI, I built the MVP in just 3 hours and then spent another 4 days refining it. 134 commits later, I decided it was time to ship.
I've always been the type of developer who spends too much time on the product itself and not enough on marketing. This project, in a way, is a reflection of that—but it's also my way of having a bit of fun with the situation and sharing the lessons I learned along the way.
What's Next?
There's a lot I still want to improve, but I decided to stop waiting for "perfect" and just launch. I'm now focused on getting feedback from people like you—other founders who understand the grind of SaaS development and the constant balancing act between building and marketing.
Why Indie Hackers Will Relate
If you've ever spent hours perfecting a feature and skipped marketing, this game will hit close to home. It's a lighthearted way to look back at the common pitfalls we face as solo developers and founders.
